Juneteenth

1865

June 19, 1865, marks the 106th year of freedom from slavery. Although, we have come a long way the fight is not over, the inequities are not over, and the stand for justice cannot waver. The current administration would like would like to walk us back 400 years but as long as we stay strong, united and rooted in the word of God we will overcome this too.

On Juneteenth, there are various customs and traditions people engage in such as eating a variety of red foods. This symbolizes the blood shed by the slaves during capture, travel and the slave trade. Let’s commemorate, educate, and support activism in remembrance.

As for our Hollins Clan – We aren’t perfect we’re just family. A family whose very foundation was etched and built on love, understanding, forgiveness, and faith.
